FRENCH VALLEY: One Killed in DUI Accident on Winchester Road and Auld Road

FRENCH VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (September 6, 2017) – At least one person has been killed in an accident on Winchester Road on Wednesday, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:44 am at the intersection of Winchester Road and Auld Road. A white 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling southbound on Winchester Road when the 51 year old driver crossed over the center line and struck a silver Toyota RAV4 head on. The RAV4 overturned, colliding with a Dodge van.

The driver of the RAV4, identified only as a 62 year old woman, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 51 year old Christopher Barbara and his passenger, 46 year old Brent Schmidt, were both hospitalized. The driver of the Dodge van, Markis Tokio, was also taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
