FREMONT, CALIFORNIA (February 3, 2017) – One person was killed in a collision with a wrong way driving on the 880 Freeway on Friday, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 12:33 am on the southbound side of the 880 Freeway. A woman in a 1999 Volvo sedan drove for over five miles on the wrong side of the freeway before she collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado.
The woman in the Volvo, a 22 year old from Santa Clara, was tragically killed in the accident. Three occupants of the Silverado suffered major injuries and were hospitalized. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
