The accident happened just before 1:00 pm. 19 year old Fredzania Thompson was posing in a photo shoot near the railroad tracks. She moved off of one set of tracks as a train approached, and was struck by a Union Pacific freight train approaching on the second set of tracks. Reports indicate that there’s a possibility Fredzania became stuck on the tracks and was unable to move.

Fredzania was rushed to a local hospital and was tragically pronounced dead. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.

“Almost one death or injury per day occurs on the rail system in the United States. Many of these tragic deaths are avoidable, the rail system is antiquated and needs a complete overhaul to ensure the safety of pedestrians, drivers, and train passengers,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
