FOWLER, CALIFORNIA (January 19, 2017) – A pedestrian was killed after they were hit by a semi-truck on Highway 99 near East Manning Avenue on Thursday night, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:46 pm on Highway 99, between East Manning Avenue and Floral. A man was allegedly standing in the slow lane when he was struck by a passing semi-truck.

The pedestrian was tragically declared dead at the scene by responding paramedics. The driver of the semi-truck stopped at the scene and is cooperating with authorities in their ongoing investigation.
