FORD COUNTY, KANSAS (February 18, 2017) – A family of five was killed in a head-on collision with a semi-truck on Saturday night on Highway 50, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened when a semi-truck crossed over the center line to pass another semi and collided head-on with a minivan carrying a family of five. The driver of the minivan, 29-year-old AnaKary Romero, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene along with three of her children, 12-year-old Edward Reynaga, 7-year-old Emily Reynaga and 1-year-old Edwin Reynaga. Her 5-year-old daughter, Evelyn Reynaga, was rushed to a local hospital, but succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The semi-truck driver was also hospitalized in unknown condition as a result of the accident. Police are still investigating the accident at this time.
