“Five Car DUI Collision”
FONTANA, CALIFORNIA (March 21, 2017) – Five vehicles were involved in an accident on Tuesday morning on Cherry Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, according to police officials. (map)
The collision occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. when the driver of a stolen Subaru fled from the police after an attempt to pull the driver over on suspicion of DUI. The Subaru hit a pole at the intersection of Cherry Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, colliding into three other vehicles, according to a police report.
The crash left six people injured; their injuries range from minor to moderate. The identities of the victims involved in the collision were not yet released. The driver of the Subaru was arrested on suspicion of DUI, possession of a stolen vehicle and evading a police officer. The accident is currently under investigation.
