BENTON COUNTY, WASHINGTON (October 29, 2017) – A three car crash on Sunday morning left two people tragically killed, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 5:21 am on Interstate 82, near Benton City. 20 year old Mariah Loera was traveling eastbound when she left the roadway on the left side. She overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to lose control and roll over, landing on the roof. During the accident, her 22 year old passenger Floral Leal was partially ejected. Their car was then struck by a second vehicle.
The driver of the first vehicle, Mariah Loera, got out of the car to speak to the driver of the second car. Both vehicles and Loera were then struck by a third car.
Flora Leal was rushed to a hospital, where she was tragically pronounced dead. Mariah Loera was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A woman in the third car was also injured and hospitalized in unknown condition. The crash remains under active investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
