“Accident at Columbus Fair”
COLUMBUS, OHIO (July 26, 2017) – 18 year old Jennifer Lambert was identified as one of those injured on Wednesday after a ride malfunctioned at the state fair in Ohio, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 7:30 pm, on a ride called the “Fire Ball”. The pendulum style ride, designed to swing riders from side to side while spinning, malfunctioned for an unknown reason. Several people were thrown from the ride, and an entire chair arm fell well with people still on board.
Seven total people were injured, including Jennifer Lambert. An 18 year old boy was also tragically killed. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
