The big-rig failed to yield as it approached a construction zone and struck a Honda Odyssey. The big-rig then hit another semi-truck, according to Indiana State Police officials.
1-year-old Finley Bereda and 5-year-old Brennan Bereda were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda Odyssey, later identified as the 33-year-old mother of Brennan and Finley, was airlifted to IU Methodist Hospital. A 3rd sibling who occupied the Odyssey was airlifted to Riley Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
One truck driver was also airlifted to the hospital for treatment. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and liability of the collision.
