FALLBROOK: One Hospitalized after Car Accident on Vanita Street and Porter Street

“Ongoing Investigation”

FALLBROOK, CA (February 20, 2017) – A three-year-old girl was hit by a car on Vanita Street and airlifted to the hospital Monday night at approximately 9:05 p.m. (map)

According to a report by California Highway Patrol, the girl was standing in front of her home on Vanita Street when a light-colored SUV hit her. The girl had sustained cuts to her neck and head, but the injuries were not life threatening. She was immediately taken by an ambulance to Fallbrook fire station just down the street. From there, a helicopter flew her to Rady Children’s Hospital for proper treatment.

The neighborhood is densely populated. The streets are poorly paved and narrow with no street lights. Witnesses of the accident told the officers that the vehicle had no license plates, did not stop and continued northbound on Vanita Street. Investigators are tracking down other witnesses to get their accounts of the incident.

“It saddens us that a young, innocent victim has been injured at the hands of a reckless hit-and-run driver. It’s only a matter of time before authorities locate the responsible individual and bring justice upon them.,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a Fresno hit-and-run accident and personal injury law firm.
