3 Trucks Involved in Deadly Crash
FALLBROOK, CALIFORNIA (December 15, 2016) – A 73-year-old man from Bonsall was killed this morning when he drove into the intersection of Green Canyon Road and South Mission Road in Fallbrook, reported the Village News. (map)
The man, whose identity has not been released, was driving a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup truck and was in a 3-vehicle wait at the stop sign at Green Canyon Road and Mission Road.
According to witnesses, the man was trying to turn left onto South Mission Road from Green Canyon Road when he drove in front of the first car and into the intersection.
The GMC truck was t-boned by a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck that was traveling northbound on South Mission. A third vehicle, a 1991 Ford F-250 that was traveling southbound on South Mission, was unable to avoid the collision and crashed into the other trucks.
Both the driver of the F150, a 54-year-old Fallbrook man, and the driver of the F-250, a 70-year-old Fallbrook man from the De Luz area, were unharmed in the crash. Two passengers in the F-150, a 37-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy, suffered shoulder and chest injuries and were transported to Palomar Hospital for evaluation
Sadly, the driver of the GMC Sierra was pronounced dead at the scene.
