FAIRFIELD, CALIFORNIA (January 4, 2017) – A two car accident was reported on the 680 Freeway on Wednesday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident was reported around 5:00 pm on the northbound side of the 680 Freeway, a little south of Gold Hill Road. At least one vehicle was overturned and off the roadway, and another smashed into the guardrail.

One person was reportedly trapped inside their car as a result of the accident. The condition of those involved is unknown at this time, but authorities are investigating the accident to determine cause and liability.
