EVERGLADES: Elizabeth Ellie Goldenberg Killed in Airboat Accident

“Investigation Ongoing”

EVERGLADES, FLORIDA (May 13, 2017) – A 22 year old woman was killed in a tragic accident with an airboat on Saturday, according to a local news source. (map)

22 year old Elizabeth “Ellie” Goldenberg had just graduated from the University of Miami the day before, and she was out on an airboat on Saturday with her parents, and her sister, as well as the airboat operator. The airboat operator, identified as Steve George Gagne, spotted another airboat that had broken down, and for an unknown reason, Gagne left the “trail”. He may have been attempting to go around the broken down airboat. As he returned to the trail, the airboat stopped suddenly and all five people on board were thrown off into the water.

Elizabeth Goldenberg was pinned under the engine cage, and was tragically pronounced dead from her injuries at a nearby hospital. Her sister was also hospitalized with minor injuries, and her parents and the Airboat operator were not injured. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
