
“Elderly Woman Struck By Vehicle”
ESCONDIDO, CALIFORNIA (February 8, 2017) – Pedestrian Arlene Anderson, 83, died in a car crash on Wednesday night near Juniper Elementary School, at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and according to the Escondido Police Department. (map)
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. An 18-year-old driver of a BMW 321i traveling westbound on Vermont Avenue struck Anderson, according to police officials. Rescue personnel was called to the scene to revive Anderson but to no avail. Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the BMW remained at the scene.
A further investigation concluded that alcohol and/or drugs were not factors in the collision.
