“Semi Truck Fatal Accident”
ELK GROVE, CALIFORNIA (March 1, 2017) – A semi truck accident on Interstate 5 on Wednesday left at least one person dead and several others injured, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened on Interstate 5 near Lambert Road. A big rig was rear ended by another vehicle for unknown reasons, causing the big rig to cross from the southbound lanes into the northbound lanes. The vehicle that rear ended the big rig then went into the center divider and burst into flames.
The driver of the car, Matthew Micenheimer, was tragically pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. The big rig driver’s condition is not known at this time. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability.
