ELIZABETHTOWN, KENTUCKY (February 25, 2017) – Two people were killed when a van rear ended a flatbed truck on Dixie Highway on Saturday, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:00 a.m. on northbound Dixie Highway, near Battle Training Road. A van carrying two people rear ended a flatbed truck for an unknown reason. The truck was hauling lumber, and the load fell onto the van during the accident.

The two occupants of the van were identified as the driver, 59 year old Charles Cox and his passenger, 34 year old Tiffany Stott. Both Charles Cox and Tiffany Stott were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was airlifted from the scene and his current condition is unknown at this time. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
