EL CAJON, CALIFORNIA (April 10, 2017) – Three people were injured in a head-on collision Ballantyne and Wells Streets Monday night, according the El Cajon Police. (map)

The accident occurred approximately before 9:00 p.m. The driver of the a Nissan Cube traveling northbound on Ballantyne Street veered onto the southbound lanes and collided into a Volvo at Wells Street, according to El Cajon police Lt. Steve Kirk.

The driver of the Nissan Cube and her child passenger sustained moderate injuries and were transferred to a local hospital for treatment. The 26-year-old driver of the Volvo sustained a broken leg and other injuries and was transported to the hospital. The driver of the Nissan Cube was later arrested on suspicion of DUI. The identities of the victims of the collision were not yet released. An investigation into accident is ongoing.
