The accident happened just before 12 am on Sunday evening, on northbound Interstate 5 near 375th Street in Federal Way. A 36 year old semi truck driver from Yelm struck a car carrying two passengers.

80 year old Edward Chambers, the driver of the vehicle, was tragically killed in the accident. His 19 year old male passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital but has since been released. The driver of the semi truck was not injured, but was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, as authorities believe drugs or alcohol was involved.

Initial reports state Edward Chambers was attempting to navigate to the shoulder from the right lane at the time of the accident, due to his vehicle overheating. The accident remains under active investigation at this time.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends as they cope with such tragic loss,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties affected in this tragedy as they try to piece together what happened.”
