EAST HAVEN, CONNETICUT (February 22, 2017) – A small plane crashed on Wednesday morning at the Tweed-New Haven Airport, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 10:00 a.m. at the Tweed-New Haven Airport. A small Piper PA 38 plane was attempting to either take off or land at the airport, when it abruptly did a nose dive. The plane crashed into a muddy, swampy area near the end of one of the runways, according to witnesses. The area the plane crashed in was off of Silver Sands Road and Roses Farm Road.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, and confirmed at least one person was tragically killed in the accident and one other sustained injuries. Pablo Campos Isona has been identified as the party who was tragically killed in the crash. The FAA is investigating the accident at this time.
