DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA (February 14, 2017) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on Tuesday in a collision on Interstate 580 at the Hacienda Drive on-ramp. (map)
The CHP reported that a red Chevrolet Impala was traveling westbound on the I-580, when they struck the pedestrian around 1:00 a.m. The identity of the driver of the Impala and the pedestrian have not been released.
CHP is currently investigating the accident to determine the cause.
“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
