The mauling took place at approximately 3:00 p.m. Kroslowitz was mowing the neighbor’s lawn on Sutter Court in Rancho Tehama Reserve area of Corning, when he got too close to the puppies and was attacked by three pitbulls: two adult females and one adult male, while in the fenced area. Kroslowitz sustained several puncture wounds, lacerations, and contusions over his face and body.
Fire crews and volunteers responded to the scene to subdue the dogs with Taser, which was unsuccessful, and a catch pole. Kroslowitz was airlifted to Enloe Hospital for injuries sustained in the pitbull attack. 67-year-old Bonnie Dixon witnessed the attack and tried to distract the dogs by shaking the fence. Dixon also received a puncture wound from a bite of one of the dogs.
All three pitbulls, including the litter, were taken to the county shelter for quarantine. Jonathan Molina, owner of the pitbulls, was contacted by the Tehama County Sheriff Deputies and released ownership of the pitbulls. The vicious attack is currently under investigation.
