Dixie Blazier Dies after Train Hits Car on Zinnia Avenue

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA (December 1, 2017) – Dixie Blazer was tragically identified as one of the two people killed in an accident on Zinnia Avenue on December 1st, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 11:55 am on Friday when a Canadian Pacific engine struck a Chevrolet Equinox SUV on Zinnia Avenue, near 260th Street. The SUV entered the crossing heading northbound, and was struck on the passenger side by the train.

66 year old Dixie Blazier was tragically killed in the collision. Also killed was 66 year old James Blazier. 55 year old Glenda Mundis was transported via air ambulance to Mercy Air-Med. This investigation is ongoing, and Lexton Law will continue to update this article as we receive more information. Initial reports indicate that this particular crossing does not have gate arms, despite other crossings less than a mile away having them.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends as they cope with such tragic loss,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties affected in this tragedy as they try to piece together what happened.”
