DINUBA, CALIFORNIA (February 10, 2017) – California Highway Patrol reported a fatal collision on Friday evening, at approximately 5:30 p.m., on Road 74 at Highway 201. (map)
A 2000 Hyundai Tiburon, driven by 60-year-old Candelario Soto, was traveling northbound on Road 74, when he collided with a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, driven by 53-year-old Dwayne Followill. The Tiburon spun out and crashed into a power pole. Sadly, Soto was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP stated that Soto’s passengers, 59-year-old Mary Ruby Soto and a 15-year-old Cutler girl were transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with major injuries. The other driver, Followill, sustained minor injuries.
Police are currently investigating the accident to determine the cause and liability.
