“Fatal Two-Car Crash”
GALT, CALIFORNIA (July 21, 2017) – 82-year-old Diane George was involved in a fatal collision on Simmerhorn Road and Cherokee Lane Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol press release. (map)
the accident occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. George was driving a silver Ford Taurus travelling southbound on Cherokee lane. George failed to yield at the stop sign. The Taurus enter the intersection ans was struck by a red Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 32-year-old woman, according to CHP.
The Tahoe attempted to avoid the collision and struck the driver side section of the Taurus. Rescue crews arrived. George was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of he Tahoe sustained minor injuries and was transported to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center for treatment. CHP concluded that drug and alcohol were not factors in the collision.
