The accident happened in the afternoon, near Clay Street and St. Aubin Street. The bus was reportedly attempting to negotiate a turn when the driver lost control and drove over some fencing before crashing into some sort of structure.

Six people on board the bus including the driver were injured in the collision, and all six were transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital with various injuries. The accident remains under investigation, but initial reports indicate the bus driver had only been driving for DDOT for approximately nine months.
