“Semi vs. Vehicle Collision”
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA (June 8, 2017) – 21-year-old Dalilah Castillo-Herrera was involved in a crash with a semi-truck on Dillon Road just south of Berdoo Canyon Road Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 12:13 p.m. Castillo-Herrera was traveling northbound on Dillon Road in a Nissan Versa when the driver of a big-rig, later identified as Steven Rodriguez, made a left turn out of the parking structure north of Nissan. Castillo-Herrera struck the rear left section of the trailer.
Castillo-Herrera sustained major injuries. Through further investigation, Castillo-Herrera was not wearing a seat belt Emergency crews responded to the scene and Castillo-Herrera was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for the treatment of those injuries. Rodriguez was not injured. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
