DELL CITY, TEXAS (April 30, 2017) – Two people were killed after a pickup truck crashed hea don into a school bus on Highway 62, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened early Sunday morning on Highway 62 about 90 miles east of El Paso. A chartered bus carrying 34 coaches and athletes back from a track meet in Lubbock collided head on with a pickup truck for an unknown reason.
48 year old Arcadio Duran Jr, a coach at Irvin High school, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Also killed was 51 year old Gary Lawson, the driver of the pickup truck. Seventeen others were injured, and are in unknown condition. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
