DEL RIO: Air Force Pilot Dies, Another Injured after Plane Crash

DEL RIO, TEXAS (November 20, 2017) – An Air Force pilot was killed and another was injured after a T-38 Talon jet crashed near the Laughlin Air Force Base, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 4:00 pm on Monday. A T-38 Talon supersonic jet primarily used for training had taken off from Laughlin Air Force base when it crashed for an unknown reason about 14 miles away near the Amistad Reservoir.

One of the airmen inside the plane used their ejection seat and parachute, and the other did not. The airman still inside the plane was tragically killed as a result of the accident, and the one that ejected sustained injuries. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
