Four members of the Zollinger family, Doug, Dawn, Mariah and Zach were on board their twin engine Piper PA-34 on Saturday, on their way from Indiana to Pennsylvania. The plane crashed for an unknown reason near the Edensburg Airport in a remote and wooded area.
All four Zollingers were injured in the plane crash. Dawn sustained a broken arm and leg, Doug reportedly had a head injury, and Zach and Mariah sustained a variety of lacerations, bumps, and bruises. The FAA is on scene to investigate the accident at this time to determine what caused the plane to crash.
Initial reports indicate that Doug Zollinger was at the controls at the time of the crash, and that he purchased the plane in 2013. The Zollingers live in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but also have a home in Snow Lake in Pennsylvania.
