39-year-old David Roy Sterner was at a friend’s residence, near 13220 Aurora Drive, to help him work on his truck just after 8:00 p.m. While helping to push the truck to the front of the driveway, the vehicle began to roll downhill and David Roy Sterner gave chase. He attempted to get into the vehicle through the open driver’s side window, ending up hanging half out of the truck as a result. The truck rolled downhill 200 yards, before going into a drainage ditch and striking a tree in the front yard of a nearby home. When the truck struck the drainage ditch, David Sterner was ejected from the vehicle, landing in the concrete ditch.
David Roy Sterner was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all the family members and friends of David Roy Sterner affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
