The accident happened at a private railroad crossing off Highway 30. 61 year old David Borgheiinck’s van was stopped on the tracks near mile marker 202 for an unknown reason, when a Union Pacific freight train collided with his vehicle.
David Borgheiinck was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability. We are still receiving new information on this accident, and will update our articles accordingly.
