Two people were killed in a head-on collision on Highway 1 in Davenport.
DAVENPORT: Fatal Head-On Collision Kills Two on Highway 1, near Swanton Road

DAVENPORT, CALIFORNIA (February 2, 2017) – California Highway Patrol reported a fatal head-on accident on Thursday morning, at approximately 7:43 a.m., on Highway 1, near Swanton Road. (map)

The accident happened when a Golden Gate Shuttle van traveling south on Highway 1 crossed into the northbound lanes and crashed head-on into a Chevy Tahoe. The driver of the van has been described as a 62-year-old San Francisco man and the Tahoe driver was identifed as 33-year-old Emilio Lopez of Watsonville. Tragically, both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Two male passengers were airlifted to a Valley Medical Center with major injuries.

CHP is currently investigating the accident to determine the cause and liability.
