COBB COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (March 7, 2017) – Darryll Patrick Prather has been identified as the man killed in a head on collision on Highway 29 on Tuesday, according to a local news source. (map)
Around 1:00 pm, 64 year old Darryll Patrick Prather was driving northbound on Highway 29 in a 2011 Subaru with his wife, 63 year old Lela Prather. A 2013 Ford pickup truck heading southbound on Highway 29 abruptly swerved into northbound lanes and crashed head on into Darryll Prather’s vehicle, sending both down an embankment.
Darryll Patrick Prather was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. His wife, Lela Prather, was rushed to a hospital with major injuries as a result of the accident. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Daniel O’Neil Long, and his passenger 3 year old Madison Long, were uninjured in the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
