“Tragic box-truck accident”
DANVILLE, CALIFORNIA (December 19, 2016) – According to the California Highway Patrol, 26-year-old Ravikesh Kumar was killed on Monday in a rollover accident on Interstate 680. (MAP)
CHP Officer Brandon Correia reported that Kumar was hauling packages in a U.S. Postal Service truck around 3:25 a.m. when he lost control and crashed the two-axle box truck on Interstate 680 near the El Pintado Road off-ramp. The truck struck an abandoned Ford minivan on the right shoulder.
Officer Correia states that the truck flipped over and struck a metal pole upon crashing into the abandoned minivan. Kumar was transported to a hospital in Walnut Creet where he later succumbed to his injuries.
