COACHELLA, CALIFORNIA (March 6, 2017) – 47 year old Daniel Collins was killed in an accident at a power plant on Power Line Road and Melissa Lane, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 10:00 a.m. at a power plant off of Power Line Road and Melissa Lane. The plant is reportedly run by Diamond Generating Corporation. Daniel Collins, an employee of the plant, was working on a high pressure valve when it exploded.
Daniel Collins was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel. The Riverside Sheriff’s Department is investigating, but initial reports indicate that there were no suspicious circumstances. The accident remains under open investigation, and Cal/OSHA is also on scene.
