DALLAS, TEXAS (May 29, 2017) – A Dallas police officer was injured in a hit and run accident on Westmoreland Road on Monday, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 2:15 pm when the officer was heading south in the 3100 block of Westmoreland Road, near Kiest Boulevard. The officer was responding to a call when a Chevrolet Silverado failed to yield and T-boned the squad car, sending it almost 30 feet into the air and down into a creek bed.
Over a dozen Good Samaritans at the scene raced down into the creek and helped turn the officer’s car over. The officer was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The pickup truck that struck the officer fled the scene immediately after the accident, and authorities are still attempting to find the truck and driver. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
“We wish a swift, steady, and complete recovery for the officer who was injured in the line of duty in this horrible accident. The prayers of the entire team at Lexton Law Firm are with the officer and his family and friends at this time,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
