COSTA MESA: Two Women Hurt in OCTA Bus Crash on 405 and 55 Freeway Interchange

“Bus vs. Vehicle Crash”

COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA (April 4, 2017) – Two women were involved in crash with a city bus on the southbound 405 Freeway ,north of the 55 Freeway near John Wayne Airport Tuesday night, according to a police report. (map)

The incident occurred at approximately 6:43 p.m. when a green Chevrolet Malibu and an OCTA bus crashed on the right shoulder of the transition road near John Wayne Airport. Two elderly women were occupants of the Chevrolet Malibu. Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene. Extrication methods were used to free the two women from the Malibu. The severity of the injuries were not yet released.

A Sig-Alert was issued for the authorities to clean up debris. The identities of the victims of the collision were not released. No other information pertaining to the collision was made available. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
