CORONA, CALIFORNIA (January 17, 2017) – A pilot and a passenger were both injured when the small plane they were in crashed on Tuesday morning outside of the Corona Airport, according to local news sources. (map)
The crash was first reported around 10:55 am outside of the Corona Municipal Airport. A red and white Harmon Rocket airplane had just taken off from the airport when it began experiencing trouble. The pilot then attempted to land in a field nearby, and the plane crashed.
The pilot and passenger had to be extricated from the downed aircraft by responding emergency personnel. Both parties were transported to a local hospital, with moderate to severe injuries. The FAA and the NTSB are both investigating the incident.
