CORONA, CALIFORNIA (April 11, 2017) – Two vehicles were involved in a fatal collision on Van Buren Boulevard near Morris Street Tuesday evening, according to the Riverside Police and Coroner’s Office. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m., when a Honda Prelude, driven by 22-year-old Jayson Garcia, traveling southbound on Van Buren Boulevard at a high rate of speed lost control, crossed over into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with Infiniti Q50. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
The female driver of the Infiniti Q50 was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injures. Her daughter was a passenger in the vehicle and was taken to the hospital as a precaution. A third vehicle maneuvered around the Infiniti Q50 to avoid the wreckage and hit a curb. The driver of the third vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
