CORONA, CALIFORNIA (July 15, 2017) – At least four vehicles were involved in a collision on westbound 91 and 71 Freeway Interchange early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The Corona Fire Department responded to the multi-vehicle crash at approximately 4:00 a.m. to find a gray Ford Focus and a gray Toyota Camry with major damage. A male victim was found lying on the ground which had been run over by vehicles.
The driver of the Camry sustained major injuries and was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition. The driver of the Focus suffered minor injuries and was also transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The occupants of the other vehicles appear to have not been injured in the collision.
The identity of the victim lying in the roadway was not yet released. The severity of his injuries were not available. No other details of the collision has been furnished. An investigation is ongoing to determine if drugs and alcohol factors in the collision.
