CORONA, CALIFORNIA (January 1, 2017) – A driver involved in an accident on the 15 Freeway on Sunday morning admitted that he fell asleep at the wheel, according to local news sources. (map)
The accident happened around 6:32 am on the northbound side of the 15 Freeway near Ontario Avenue. A black Chevrolet Silverado was spotted veering back and forth on the freeway, almost striking several vehicles before crashing into a guard rail. The driver stated they fell asleep at the wheel to responding authorities.
An ambulance responded to the scene to tend to those injured in the accident, but the condition of those involved is not currently available. The investigation is ongoing by the CHP.
