RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (June 8, 2017) – Corey Goetsch has been identified as the man that was killed in a tragic accident on Golden Avenue on Wednesday evening, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 9:25 pm at the intersection of Golden Avenue and Pierce Street. 44 year old Corey Goetsch was driving a 2011 Toyota Camry south on Golden Avenue when he drove through a red light at a high rate of speed for an unknown reason. He struck a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer heading west on Pierce Street, and then a 2009 Nissan Sentra that was attempting a left turn. The impact caused Goetsch’s Toyota Camry to overturn, and he was ejected.
Corey Goetsch was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. The 23 year old driver of the Nissan Sentra was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition. The driver of the Mitsubishi reportedly sustained minor injuries in the accident. The collision remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
