Big Rig Accident Under Investigation
CORCORAN, CALIFORNIA (December 15, 2016) – Three people were hospitalized Thursday night in a big rig vs. passenger vehicle crash on Highway 43 near Whitley Avenue, reported the Fresno Bee. (map)
The accident occurred around 7:25 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 43 and Whitley Avenue.
A preliminary investigation revealed Marks Woods, 73, was driving a 2014 Volvo semi trailer truck south on Highway 43 when he hit the left side of a 2005 Hyundai Tuscon that was driving east on Whitley Avenue.
The driver of the Hyundai, Carolina Lopez, and her right front passenger, Sal Estrada, were taken to Adventist Medical Center in Hanford for treatment of unspecified injuries. The left rear passenger, Fredrick Jones, was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia for treatment of major injuries.
