CORCORAN, CA – Three people were injured in a big-rig and vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 43 and Whitley Avenue. According to reports, a 2014 Volvo semi-truck was being driven by truck driver, Mark Woods, 73. Woods was traveling southbound on Highway 43 when his semi-truck hit the left side of a 2005 Hyundai Tucson. The Hyundai had been heading eastbound on Whitley Avenue.
One of the three injured victims, Fredrick Jones, sustained major injuries, and had to be transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia. Carolina Lopez, the driver of the Hyundai and her right passenger, Sal Estrada, were both injured as well. Lopez and Estrada were both taken to Adventist Medical Center in Hanford.
Jones, Lopez, and Estrada were all in their 20’s, according to police. The accident is still under investigation and no further information is readily available at this time.
