The accident happened around 9:00 am at the intersection of Arkell Road and Treat Boulevard. A pedestrian was struck by an unidentified car at the intersection near Carondelet High School.
The pedestrian sustained major injures in the accident and was rushed to a nearby trauma center. It is not known if the driver that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene or not, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
