CONCORD, CALIFORNIA (February 10, 2017) – Robert Spurling, 51, was killed by a motorist while he was walking near Monument Boulevard and Reganti Drive early last Friday. (map)

The accident happened at about 3:45 a.m. according to reports. The driver who hit him was a 43-year-old woman driving a 1998 delivery van for the Bay Area News Group. The woman remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with investigators as they conducted interviews.

According to the police report, neither drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
