COMPTON, CALIFORNIA (March 1, 2017) – A pedestrian was killed in a tragic accident on Wednesday night on Long Beach Boulevard, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Long Beach Boulevard near East Bennett Street. A pedestrian was found lying in the road by responding authorities, having been struck by an unidentified vehicle.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but tragically declared the victim dead at the scene. It is unknown if the involved vehicle remained at the scene or not. The investigation is ongoing at this time to determine cause and liability.
