COLTON: Madis Tolentino Injured in Hit and Run on 10 Freeway

“Investigation Ongoing”

COLTON, CALIFORNIA (August 9, 2017) – Madis Tolentino was badly injured in a hit and run accident on the 10 Freeway in Colton on Wednesday, August 9th. (map)

Around 3:00 pm on the westbound 10 Freeway, Madis Tolentino was driving home from work in her gray BMW. A grey Infiniti suddenly raced up to pass Tolentino, then abruptly cut her off, clipping the front of Tolentino’s car and sending her spinning beneath a semi truck.

Madis Tolentino suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident, and her car was totaled. She was dragged by the semi truck almost a quarter of a mile. The Infiniti responsible for the collision took off after the accident, and authorities are still on the lookout for the vehicle. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability.

“A motorist injured at the hands of a hit-and-run driver is subject to a bodily injury claim against the negligent parties insurance, assuming they have insurance once the driver is caught. If the negligent party does not carry auto insurance, injured parties will still have a claim if the motorist carries uninsured motorist coverage on their vehicle also known as UM,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
