COACHELLA, CALIFORNIA (March 6, 2017) –A pedestrian was reportedly killed after being struck by a car on Interstate 10 on Monday morning, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 3:22 am on Interstate 10, near Dillon Road. A black Chrysler 200 reported striking an unidentified object in the road, and authorities responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered a pedestrian down in lanes.
The pedestrian, identified as 39 year old Maria Alvarado, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown if the pedestrian was already dead before he or she was struck by the Chrysler. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
