The accident happened around 6:00 pm on Saturday. A Toyota Prius traveling southbound on Sunrise Boulevard struck a couple crossing the street near Antelope Road.
Both pedestrians were rushed to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, in serious condition. The man, identified as being in his 60s, is in critical condition and the woman, in her 50s, is in stable condition. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities in their ongoing investigation.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
